Hi! My name is Congcong Miao. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Geography at the University of Connecticut, specializing in Geographic Information Science, Spatial Data Science, and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI).

My research is motivated by the reciprocal interaction between AI and geography. On one hand, I leverage cutting-edge computational methods to investigate complex social processes and understand human behaviors; on the other, I integrate geographic knowledge and spatial reasoning into AI models to enhance their ability to capture the intricacies of human–environment systems. These two perspectives converge in my studies of transportation systems—for example, using street view imagery to examine traffic crash risks and developing explainable GeoAI models to unveil human mobility.
